GIDDERBAHA- Amrita Warring, the wife of Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today filed her nomination papers from Gidderbaha assembly segment which goes for the by-elections on November 13.

Accompanied by her husband Raja Warring, daughter and son, Ms Warring filed her papers in the local SDM’s office.
Later talking to reporters after filing her nomination papers, she said, she was the first woman candidate having been fielded by any political party from Gidderbaha since independence.

She appealed to people of Gidderbaha to support her, reminding her family’s deep association with them for the last one and a half decades. She said she had faith and confidence in her family, ‘the people of Gidderbaha’, who have always supported her husband Raja Warring.
Ms Warring especially appealed to the women voters of the Gidderbaha assembly segment that they should rise above all partisan affiliations and considerations and vote for her and make their “sister” win.

“You will actually feel the difference when you will see one among you being your elected representative”, she told the women of Gidderbaha, while emphasizing that she was one among them only.

Ms Warring refused to comment on her rivals, saying she was focused on her own agenda, which is public welfare, serving people with complete devotion and dedication and development of the area. She said, people of Gidderbaha have always been gracious and grateful and they know that whenever Raja Warring got a chance he served them with his blood and sweat.

Raja Warring who accompanied Ms Warring, said she has been active in the area for the last two decades. He said his wife has always been working with and among the people of Gidderbaha and she has a strong ‘connect’ with all of them.

The PPCC president credited her for his own success, saying she has always stood by him and worked round the clock. He said, he has always been profoundly grateful to the people of Gidderbaha, as it is because of them only that he has reached where he is today.

He expressed confidence that like the people of Gidderbaha have always stood by him in the past, they will continue to support him and his family in the future as well. “I have complete faith and trust in my people”, he remarked with confidence.
